Yes..Robin there is a real BAT CAVE!!

We had the pleasure of being the guests of Lake Junaluska, North Carolina this weekend.
This was the location for our US Army sponsored Marriage Retreat. I guess it worked, We are still officially married!!
Lake Junaluska is absolutely stunning, peaceful, (when the geese are not fussy) ... A real refuse, I think Jack & I'd go back even if it weren't for a marriage retreat.. This picture does not even do our surroundings justice. If you ever want to just get away from it all... This is the place. Rich in spiritual surroundings, set in the mountains near the Blue Ridge Parkway. Spring was just arriving up there .. the new buds, the brand new baby leaves still soft to the touch, the delicate new flowers made up of all the spring colors, made this weekend get-a-way a sweet treat. Only thing that could of made the long two lane winding roads even better would of been if we had been on the motorcycle.
We did have to detoured just a few miles..... This was to visit the "don't blink" Bat Cave, North Carolina. YES it is real..... !! Didn't actually see Batman... Maybe next time.

Going thru withdrawls...

The newest love in our life is Iztim.."Izzy" for short, She is our parti-schnauzer, She is 14 months old ...This weekend we had to fly her to Texas...So she could stay with her Granny & Grampy..
They will spoil her rotten for the next 30 days.. As we drove off, I cried like a 2 year old .. How do we get so attached to these fuzzy creatures? Growing up I was not allowed to have a pet, We raised Greyhounds in Texas & my Grandpa thought "Pets" were just another mouth to feed & who needed that luxury.

The joys of flying standby @ DFW yesterday proved to be a challenge in keeping my blood pressure down...thank goodness for the USO.. We started at DFW about 11am, by noon we had been bumped once... by 155 bumped twice... Okay, how creative can one be with being forced to compete with seats for the Masters in Augusta... Masters "1" Standby "0" by 445 CLT was our saving grace & we got out on the last 2 First Class seats, Maybe the "standby" Gods felt sorry for us.

We arrived late last night into Columbia.. We had come home to a quiet house.. for those of us who love their pets, know that this is a horrible feeling... It is going to be a very long 30 days, YET... We only have 11 more days till we fly to London and start our holiday/cruise...
I'm sure this will console me some. (Ha Ha)

My 1st Blog...

I'm doing this for 2 reasons, 1st is my Mother... 2nd is for my BFF.. With our day to day life's & busy schedules .. This is one way for me to communicate., I hope I do not let them down.

My girlfriend Annette has a blog, She is currently going thru "Stew School".. she updates her blog frequently and I live vicariously thru her & her words, I look forward to her new words...While I read her trails and tribulations she is facing on a daily basis, She suggested I start my own blog...
So here goes........................

I'm starting this now, because in 16 days (not that I'm counting) Jack & I will be departing for our cruise, We sail on 29 April, On Celebrity Cruise Lines... We will visit the UK, France, Spain and Portugal. This will be our 7th cruise, each have been fantastic & I can't envision any other way to see this beautiful world of ours. Okay, I'm going to hit publish .. and off I go...
